Mama Moore’s Gourmet Popcorn: Allergen & Safety Notification
At Mama Moore’s Gourmet Popcorn, we are dedicated to serving delicious, handcrafted popcorn. We take food safety seriously and want to help you make informed decisions about your dietary needs.
A Note About Our Cooking Oil
To achieve the perfect texture and flavor, we pop our corn in premium golden-hued coconut popping oil. Our oil is naturally tinted with beta-carotene (a plant-based pigment found in carrots) to provide a rich, buttery appearance without the use of synthetic dyes.
According to the FDA, highly refined oils—including the peanut and coconut oils we use—are not considered major food allergens because the refining process removes the proteins that typically cause allergic reactions. Furthermore, the FDA has recently updated its guidance to reflect that coconut is no longer classified as a major tree nut allergen.
Handcrafted Quality & Shared Kitchen
While we take great care in our preparation procedures, our popcorn is handcrafted in small batches in a shared kitchen environment. Our facility actively processes ingredients containing:
Peanuts • Tree Nuts (Pecans, Almonds, Cashews) • Milk • Soy • Wheat • Eggs • Sesame
Due to the handcrafted nature of our food, the use of shared kettles and coating tumblers, and variations in supplier ingredients, we cannot ensure that any of our items are completely free from allergens. Additionally, because we pop fresh on-site, allergen-containing dust (such as cheese or nut powder) may be present in the air and can settle on any product.
We advise guests with severe allergies to exercise caution. Please ask a Team Member if you have specific questions or need to see a particular ingredient label.
